The Midwife

Catherine Deneuve, now 73, is an icon of international cinema who’s worked with many of cinema’s great directors -on film such as The Umbrellas of Cherbourg – Belle de Jour – Indochine – 8 Women – Dancer in the Dark – etc, and brings her formidable acting chops to this story of an unlikely friendship between two women.

In this bittersweet drama Claire (Catherine Frot), is a talented and tightly wound midwife, who meets Béatrice (Catherine Deneuve), the estranged, free-spirited former mistress of Claire’s late father. Though polar opposites in almost every way, the two come to rely on each other as they cope with the unusual circumstance that brought them together in this sharp character study from the César-award winning director Martin Provost (SÉRAPHINE).
