Gear up for this year’s Sheep and Wool Festival with a wonderful film! Part travelogue, part human interest story, and part sports movie, Away To Me follows national champions from the US, Canada, and South Africa as they prepare for a major international sheepdog competition.
Originally held in Wales in 1873, today sheepdog trials take place in the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Chile, Canada, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, and beyond. Adored by millions, trials test both the strength and the nature of the bonds between handlers and their dogs. Away To Me shines a cinematic light on the three people leading extraordinary lives in the pursuit of their passion for the sport as they compete for the Gold Medal at the world’s foremost international sheep herding competition – the Soldier Hollow Classic – held annually on a scenic hillside course near Park City, Utah. The relationships captured on screen will touch you, and the drama and beauty of the competition will captivate.
